Setting up 2 Factor Authentication on 365 [MFA]


Login to your email account at: 

  1. Once in click on your Account. 
    [ top right hand side ]



  2. Click on Security Info



  3. Under Security Info pick + Add Method



  4. Microsoft Authenticator or other option.
    Best option is to download the Microsoft Authenticator app for your phone. [Opens in new Tab]
    Note; Microsoft Authenticator will allow you to backup your account with a personal email in case your phone is lost.
    [ If not you can use a different one if you are already using it ]



  5. Click Next to setup your account.



  6. Using your App Scan the code to match it to your account.
    [ On the phone App, pick Add Account and Scan a QR Code. ]
    Once Scanned the Account will appear in the Microsoft Authorization App.
    Click Next



  7. Now it will be tested to make sure it works. While the "Let's try it out" window appears your phone will prompt you to 
    On your phone click Approve.
    Once you Approve the Next Button will be available.
    Click Next


  8.  Once approved by you the "Notification Approved" screen should show up.
    [ Only then can you verify it's working, if not stop and start over ]



  9. Confirm that your Authentication method is now listed.



  10. You are done. The account is now secure with 2 Factor Authentication.
